About this policy

This policy covers Connect, the word-connection game for iPhone and iPad.

You can read this policy inside the app without an internet connection. Email and links to external websites require an internet connection.

Local play and optional cloud progress

Levels, dictionaries and the playable tutorial are bundled on your device and work offline in English, Spanish, Romanian, Italian, German, French and European Portuguese. Gameplay, coins, powers, rewards, purchase delivery records, settings and streaks are saved locally. Apple handles purchase verification and payments; starting a new purchase requires access to Apple. Advertising and account sign-in also require their respective online services.

If you sign in, Connect backs up your level boards, guesses, completed levels, selected language and streak history to your account so you can continue on another device. Each language has a separate board history. Coin balances, power inventories and consumable purchase ledgers are device-local and are not copied between devices through this account backup. Signing out does not erase local progress; different Connect accounts keep separate level and streak records.

Authorized support administrators can see account profiles and progress, provide coins or powers, correct streaks, adjust availability of unfinished levels, and disable advertising for an account. These support changes are delivered when the app next syncs. Consumable gifts are claimed once by one device. Support cannot use an ads-on setting to cancel purchased ad-free access. Administrative changes are logged for security and troubleshooting.

Online services

The current level campaign does not require downloading puzzles or approval from the Connect server to play, spend coins, use powers, earn rewards or maintain your streak. Optional account backup and support corrections use encrypted HTTPS connections to services hosted by Cloudflare. Cloudflare processes network addresses and ordinary request information to deliver and protect those services.

Older daily and Premium connections may remain in an existing account history. Their previously collected records are retained until account deletion. The current game does not require a Premium subscription.

Optional Apple and Google accounts

You may sign in with Apple or Google, or play without an account. The account service verifies your provider identity and stores a stable provider identifier, the email address provided by that provider, and your editable username. The initial username is suggested from your email address. Apple may supply a private relay address. We do not receive your Apple or Google password, or request access to contacts, mail or files. Google handles authentication under its policy at https://policies.google.com/privacy.

Apple and Google identities are not automatically joined merely because their email addresses match. Sessions are stored securely on your device. Account settings let you edit your username, sign out, export your data, or delete your account after authenticating again with its provider.

Account deletion revokes Connect sessions and removes the account records and backed-up progress. Provider authorization is revoked where supported. A deletion receipt containing an internal account ID can be retained for 90 days to prevent backup restoration from recreating deleted data; restricted support notes expire after 180 days. Security audit events retain internal identifiers and minimal reasons. Deleting an account does not cancel Apple billing or erase purchases held by Apple.

Apple handles all in-app payments; the developer does not receive payment-card details. Coins, powers and streak recovery are consumables delivered once to the device after verification. Permanent all-levels and ad-free purchases can be restored through Apple. Consumables that have already been delivered are not copied to a new device through account backup. Confirmed refunds update local purchase rights. Previous Premium purchase records can remain linked to the earlier account for billing support and are not automatically transferred to a newly created account.

Advertising and privacy choices

The app uses Google AdMob to show a banner below the keyboard and an interstitial at a natural break when you choose Next level after completing a level. TestFlight and development builds use Google test ads. Unavailable ads do not prevent playing or moving to the next level.

We request non-personalized ads and disable Google publisher first-party identifiers and personalized advertising in the SDK configuration. We do not request access to the iOS advertising identifier through App Tracking Transparency. We do not send Google your guesses, hidden answers, Connect account information, coin balance or purchase history.

Advertising still involves data processing. Google may process your IP address and approximate location, app- or device-related identifiers, advertisements viewed, interactions with ads, and crash or performance information to deliver, measure, secure and improve ads. Non-personalized ads are not data-free. Google handles this information under its own privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy. Google’s User Messaging Platform checks which privacy choices apply before the app requests ads. Where required, a consent or privacy message appears. You can review or withdraw applicable choices in Settings → Advertising privacy choices. Choosing not to consent does not block the game; Google may serve only eligible limited ads or no ads. If privacy information cannot be obtained and no valid prior permission exists, the app does not request ads.

Google controls retention of advertising data under its policies. Uninstalling the app or resetting a level does not delete data already held by Google. Contact us about the app’s data practices, or use Google’s privacy controls for data held by Google.

Optional notifications and widget

Daily reminders are optional and scheduled locally on your iPhone for the next seven days. The app requests notification permission only after you choose to enable reminders or messages. It uses your preferred time and the current device time zone, and skips reminders for a day you have already played.

The Home Screen widget shares only the currently loaded start and finish words, solved-word count, completion status, streak and expiry with this app through an Apple App Group. It contains no account credentials, guesses or hidden answers. Signing out or switching accounts clears that snapshot.

If you opt into news while signed in and online messages are configured, the service stores an encrypted Apple push token, language, time zone, consent setting and associated app session. Apple receives the token and message to deliver notifications. The service uses this information to respect preferences and quiet hours; it does not use it for advertising. Revoked sessions cannot receive newly attempted messages. Offline sign-out unregisters the device locally, but already accepted messages cannot be recalled.

Inactive push registrations and campaign records are removed after 30 days by scheduled cleanup. Account deletion removes registrations. These server features stay disabled until credentials and scheduled cleanup are configured.

Resetting and deleting local data

Settings → Restart current level resets only the current level board. Unlocked levels, earned rewards, coins, powers, revealed letters and streaks remain. Earlier daily and Premium saves are separate.

To remove the app’s local documents, use Delete App in iOS. Offload App keeps these documents. Keychain credentials may survive deleting the app; sign out first to remove the local account session. Signing out or deleting the app does not cancel an Apple subscription.

iOS or iCloud backups may retain app data separately. Apple controls backup behavior, and you can manage your backups through your Apple device and iCloud settings. Deleting the app does not delete support emails or TestFlight reports.

Sharing a result

Sharing is optional and starts only when you choose Share result. The app passes a puzzle result and its colored feedback pattern to the iOS share sheet. You choose the destination and whether to complete the share.

The service or person you choose receives what you share and handles it under their own practices. The developer does not receive a copy through the game.

Contacting the developer

If you email the developer, your email address and whatever text, images, or attachments you choose to send are used to respond and help with your request. Sending an email is optional and is not required to play.

TestFlight beta testing

When you install a beta through TestFlight, Apple collects crash and usage information and makes testing information available to the developer. You may also choose to send feedback, screenshots, or crash details. This information may include device and app details and, depending on how you joined the beta or what you submit, your name or email address.

The developer uses beta information to investigate problems and improve the game. The developer does not use it for advertising, sell it, or disclose it to third parties. Apple's collection and handling of TestFlight information are separate from the offline game's local storage and are described in Apple's TestFlight privacy information.

Retention and privacy requests

Support emails and independently saved copies of beta reports are kept only as long as needed to investigate or resolve the issue, then deleted. Apple controls retention of information held in TestFlight and its other services.

Contact support at the email address below to ask a privacy question or request deletion of support messages or report copies held by the developer. The developer cannot delete Apple's own records or copies of results you have shared with other people or services.
